  • It's been awhile...

    Hello friends!!!

I hope some of you are still with me...sorry I have not been updating this site as much. It is hard enough to keep one site updated, let alone two!!

    The workouts are going AMAZING!!!!

I am so excited to see the changes in my body. In fact, my trainer commented as we were walking into the gym that I was looking really good. I had on one of the few t-shirts that I wear to train in, but it looked better on me!! SCORE!!

Last night was a seminar at our gym...

The guy was talking about proper hydration, etc. They wanted us to spend $159.00 for a 10 week program. I don't think so. I am doing good with Tatum as it is. He had some good points though...

    • Keep sodium under 2,000mg a day
    • Drink plenty of fluids
    • Take B-Complex supplements (50mg), another B-6(50mg), Potassium(99mg), and 1000mg of Vitamin C
    • No pasta, rice, or potatoes for the 1st 30 days
    • Test your urine with a pH strip twice a day to make sure you are properly hydrated
    • Chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, fruits and veggies are at the top of the list to eat
    • The only way to target our "muffin top", lower stomach is my doing exercises to strengthen the butt
I asked my trainer, and she did not see me wasting the $$$ on the program. I can do it at home by myself. So, that is what I will try and do. He did mention that one day a week it is good to "pig out" per se.

So, Tatum's Mom was at the seminar yesterday, and I talked to her about hiring Tatum one more day per week to focus on cardio. You see, my cardio is not as intense as it needs to be. I cruise around 122 for a heart rate. It should be about 150 for cardio training. We calculated it last week, and I have been thinking about it ever since. Well, we did an interval training session today. And...if you are friends with me on Facebook...look at my status. It SUCKED!! HARDEST WORKOUT EVER IN MY LIFE!!!

    • 5 min warm up on treadmill 3mph 1.5 incline
    • 3 sets of 10 chest press 12lb
    • 1 min of step ups (KILLER)
    • Planks (KILLER)
    • Rows - machine - 45lbs
    • 1 min of step ups (KILLER)
    • Romanian dead lifts 12lb 3/10
    • 100's - hold abs tight in a crunch position and raise and lower your arms really fast (KILLER)
    • Fly's - 8lb 3/10
    • Hammer Curls - 12lb 3/10
    • Lat pulldowns 45 3/10
    • Lat raise 8lb 3/10
    • 1 min of step ups (KILLER)
    • 1 lap around track cool down
    • Stretching
I am sure I am leaving something out, but oh my word...I was sweating through the entire workout!! I drank a large sports bottle of water during it!!!

So, the inches are coming off like crazy, but the weight not so much. Don't get me wrong...I have lost weight, but not as much  as I was hoping. Hopefully with proper hydration, farmers market season, and my new interval workouts, the scale will move as well.

I will post a new picture on my other site soon...hopefully we can see a change!

  • Last Few Days

I am sorry I have not been around the past week...it does not mean that I haven't been working out...I have! I met with Tatum on Monday, Wednesday and this morning. It feels so good to work out!!! I have not felt this good in years. Praise God!

Wednesday was another hard workout...we did a lot of dumbells, and worked on legs. I did cardio for 20 minutes, and then came home. Thursday I did a KILLER cardio workout...killer for me...it was 60 minutes on the treadmill, 3.2mph, mostly 3-5 incline, and I burned 444 calories. I went over 3 miles!! Then, I went back that evening with hubbie and we did a water aerobics class for an hour.

I worked so hard on Thursday, and ended up sleeping in! OOPS! It was a CRAZY busy day, and we were going to work out last night and it didn't work out. My Grandma was rushed to the hospital yesterday, and is not doing good at all. I will update more on my other site. I did end up going to Weight Watchers yesteray. I am doing the anti-inflammatory diet, but I like the accountability to weigh in, and I love to socialzie! They really do have great mind set motivation, etc. It is not a lot of "their" program. It was really fun. I am going to weigh in on Fridays at noon.

Today was KILLER!! I think it was the hardest workout ever...what is so funny, is that Tatum and I walked in toghether at the same time...5 min before our appt! I didn't get home till 10 last night, and had a hard time getting up. She slept in too! Anyway, it was pretty intense. We did the bench press on the free weight side, it is a Cybex machine, and rotates...really cool....I did rows with a barbell, did crunches on the stability ball, did push ups on the wall, reverse pushups on the Cybex bench press machine, some more dumbell moves, and some crazy leg workout. So, we went about 15 minutes over, and when we were done she said this one was on her! I could have cried!! She said I was her best client, and I have really encouraged her with my results. I am so happy!!

I think I am going to write her a card, and give her a gift card to Dick's or something. She has really changed my life! The Lord is going to use this in a mighty way!

Off to spend time with hubbie, figure out what is going on with my Gram, and go back to the gym tonight and finish some more cardio!

  • WEEKEND/MONDAY

O.K. I am so stinking excited and happy right now!!! O.K...I am going to breathe now! Anyway, Saturday hubbie and I had a date day, and did lots of running around...from 11am-8pm. We were so tired when we got home that we went to bed. I got up at 7:30 on Sunday morning and went to the gym and did 40 minutes of Cardio before Sunday School. It was a great workout...we were planning on going swimming after church, but hubbie was not feeling good.
Yesterday was my appt with Tatum a.k.a. "Jillian" (from the Biggest Loser). Wow...she is torture! But, I love her! It was a tough workout....we did most dumbells again. I did a combo of bicep/hammer curls. OUCH! I only did 3 machines....lat pulldowns, triceps pushdowns, and abdominal obliques. The weights were killer yesterday! I did a 10 minute warm up on the treadmill, then after I was done, did another 20 minutes on the treadmill. No Ipod, so I prayed the whole time...thanks for the idea Rachel! Anyway, I prayed for a lot of you Xanga girls, family, church family, etc. One thing I prayed for was a bizarre situation, and I will post about that on my other blog later today.

Anyway, getting back on track, we went to the gym last night again because hubbie was getting a massage. I swam for an hour while he was getting his massage!!

I got on the scale this morning, and was down another 3 lbs.!! The scale wasn't moving much the last few days, so that was encouraging!

    Thanks for reading....

Oh my...what a great workout today! I got to the gym at 7:10am, did a 10 minute warm up on the treadmill, and then started my work with Tatum (my trainer). So, I was telling her how hard the dumbells were, and how sore they made me. She said.."Oh good...that is what we are focusing on today!" Oh joy...I was sweating so bad! I also tried to do a push up. Yeah...I wish someone were there filming...it would be a hit on Youtube. I tried to do them on my knees, and that was not much better! Oh well...you have to start somewhere! We did the arms, and abs today. I did about 15 more minutes on the treadmill after my session, and then came home.

Jason and I went back to the gym tonight, and I did another 20 minutes on the treadmill, and then 30 minutes of walking in the pool. I had a hard time keeping my heart rate up tonight...the incline was at 3.0 for most of the time. I only walk at 3.0-3.5, but that is hard for me.

My food was decent today, and I got lots of fruits and veggies in.

Tomorrow is supposed to be icky...we are gonna stay around here, then go to the gym at night. I will update again tomorrow night!

    Thanks for reading!

I was so sore today! My arms, shoulders, and upper back were KILLING me! I so did not want to go to the gym today. It was icky, rainy, and cold here. I had a bunch of errands to run this morning, and ended up going to the gym tonight with Jason.

We did 30 minutes of water jogging...boy, what a fun workout! It doesn't even feel like exercise, but it burns 400 calories in 30 minutes! So, that was my only cardio workout today. Tomorrow (Friday) my next appointment with my personal trainer is at 7:30am. I am not a morning person, but it is a good way to start the day!

So, I am starting the anti-inflammatory diet...I went to Costco this morning and got a ton of good food. I got 4 lbs. of grapes, 1 lb of fancy lettuce (not iceberg), a huge fruit bowl, 6 lb.s of pears for Jason, frozen organic blueberries, a huge bag of frozen mixed veggies, 18 organic brown eggs, and some Advil!! I am so excited to start this new food plan. I went to an allergist a couple of years ago, and she told me that I was allergic to gluten (wheat) and dairy. I stopped both for a couple of weeks, lost a ton of weight, and then stopped. It was too hard for me to give it up. But, I have taken the step of hiring a trainer, so I need to follow through on the nutrition end as well.

I want to get to the gym tomorrow at 7:10, get a cardio warm up done before my strength training circuit, and crank it out. My trainer also wants me to get a Dr's. note saying that it is okay for me to be working out. I will do that tomorrow as well.

Also...last but not least...I got 2 t-shirts and a pair of shorts from Costco...the shirts are those Dri-Wick shirts that wick sweat away, and they were XXL (I like them big), but they only had XL shorts. I thought I would get them, and maybe in a couple of months they would fit...well...they fit now!! I have not worn XL shorts since 1993! So happy!!

Thanks for reading....I will update tomorrow....
